1. NEWS

It's barely been a few hours since my last journal update and already I've got some fun news, especially if you're an old school gamer.

Last semester, the video game modelers, level designers, and animators (that's me!) were in a competition to remake levels from an old Sierra video game, the Dagger of Amon Ra. The work of myself and my 2 partners can be seen here at about 12-13 seconds in (it's the boiler room). If you guys want to see a clearer picture, just message me and I'll be more than happy to post it up in my gallery along with all the usual information.

Sadly, we lost to the modelers by a single point, which sucks as my professor had promised us that if we could beat them he would take us out for a beer T_T

This news has lifted my spirits somewhat, but my question still stands for you guys: what do you do when you don't feel your artwork is living up to the standards you've set for yourself?

As always, suggestions, requests, art trades, and what have you are welcome Only suggestions will be accepted for now. Be careful not to confuse them with requests as they are not the same thing!

For those who come to my page for my bases: I won't be submitting bases for a while, unless requested, but even that is kinda iffy. Too many people don't know how to read my terms of use


3. REQUEST GUIDELINES

These guidelines apply not just to requests but to art trades, collaborations, gifts, kiribans, and anything else you can think of.

First and foremost, I do not charge for my requests nor will I ever. If you want to send me some money as a show of gratitude, though, I won't hold it against you
I'm open to any and every request so long as it is within the regulations of deviantART's posting policies.
Requests are usually prioritized in the order they are brought to my attention. This will not be the case if I foresee that one request will take me a shorter amount of time to complete over another.
You decide everything about your request, from the art medium all the way down to the smallest of details you want included.
You can contact me via messages or notes on deviantART or we can chat through my e-mail address. Please send me a note beforehand if you plan to add me.


4. BASE TERMS OF USE

If you see a base in my gallery that you want to use, there are a few rules I'm putting forward that you'll have to follow. You can find an abridged form of the following regulations in each of my submitted bases.

My bases are to be used only on deviantART. I might be willing to make an exception if you would like to post it on your personal site. At any rate, you will have to ask me if you want it posted on a site other than deviantART. I will absolutely refuse you if you want to post your pic on a popular or mainstream site. I will leave it to your discretion to determine what is "popular" or "mainstream".
You are free to use my bases without having to ask. This is really just to speed up the whole process.
If you do use one of my bases, please add this base to your favorites. If for nothing else, this should be a common courtesy.
If you do use one of my bases, please send me a link. When I say send me a link, it would be better for you if you post the link in the original base. Others will be able to see what you've done and you'll get more page hits. Posting on my front page or sending me a note is also acceptable, but you won't get the aforementioned benefits.
Credit me and link your piece back to the original base. Again, this is a common courtesy. Don't be lazy.
You may modify this base so long as the aforementioned regulations are respected. Obviously, I don't expect you to keep my signature in your edits. Do what you want with the base, but if you use it or any part of it, no matter how big or small, you still have to follow the rules!
